Tomato sauce is one of the most widespread conserves in Italy, especially prepared in the southern regions, where its large daily use has made it the queen of preserves.

Generally prepared at the end of the summer, this preserve guarantees that each family will have a precious treasure in their pantry, for future use. The genuineness of the seasonal tomato (usually the San Marzano variety) with its goodness and health-giving properties, is preserved throughout the winter.

Tomato sauce is so versatile in the kitchen. It is mainly used to complement pasta but is also used as a pizza topping, in soups, to add flavour to both meat and fish stews and much more!
